110th anniversary of Hunsur’s Sri Durgamma Temple

Marking the 110th anniversary of Sri Durgammadevi Temple here, programmes have been organised for two days beginning tomorrow, according to Siddaraju, Head of Sri Durgadevi Seva Samithi.

Abhisheka and flower decoration will be done at 6 am tomorrow followed by Mahamangalarathi at 10 am. A homa will be performed at 4 pm at Lakshmanatheertha River and the idol of the deity will be taken on an ‘Addapallakki’ in a procession through the main thoroughfares of the town accompanied by folk troupes and the idol will be brought to the temple. On Mar.15, women will take out ‘Tampu Aarathis’ at 5.30 am through main thoroughfares followed by Mahamangalarathi at temple.
