‘Adaab Rafi-2,’ a feast of enchanting golden greats of Mohammed Rafi

The jam-packed audience at the Platinum Jubilee Hall in  JK Grounds here were feasted with lilting and enchanting melodies of the legendary Bollywood playback singer late Mohammed Rafi last evening at the musical nite titled ‘Adaab Rafi-2,’ organised by Rotary Ivory City Mysuru to raise funds for its social and community services. V.N. Prasad and Troupe enthralled the gathering.

Prasad, in his inimitable voice rendered ‘Subhanallah haseen chehra,’ ‘Choudavika Chand,’ Tere mere Sapne ek rang hai,’ and many other hits of Rafi.

A.S. Khan, another singer came out with ‘Jis raat ke khwaab aaye,’ ‘Gulabi aankhey and other songs. Ashwin Prabhu electrified the audience with the  foot-tapping fast number ‘An Evening in Paris’ and debutant Shabbir rendered ‘Tu Ganga ki Mouj,’ ‘Abhi na Jaoh’ and other hits mesmerising the crowd. Female singers Preethi Prabhu, Jayanti Bhat, Mamatha Bhanuprakash (Prasad’s daughter) and Sahana Nayak together with the male singers rendered soul-stirring duets of yesteryears.

Rafi’s daughter Nasreen Ahmed and son-in-law Meeraj Ahmed, who were the chief guests, were felicitated on the occasion. Rotary Ivory City President Rtn. R. Muthukumaran, Secretary Rtn. Animesh Chaturvedi and other Rotarians were present on the occasion.
