Apathy of MCC contractor’s workers

April 18, 2017

Sir,

A few weeks back the MCC contractor’s men came to the 4th Main of Gokulam 3rd Stage with men and a JCB and created a havoc by demolishing the concrete steps and slopes in front of the entrances and garages of some houses. This work continued for more than a week. When asked the person in charge there, he told that it was for the smooth flow of rain water into the drains.

The digging is done so deep that at one house the water pipe is hanging as about one foot of earth is dug out under the pipe. The person in charge there told that everything would be  repaired in a week but nothing has happened even after two weeks. Due to this, parking vehicles in side garages has become very difficult.

The above said demolition has not been done uniformly in front all houses — especially the houses between the 6th and 1st Cross Roads are not touched.

I request the concerned authorities to see that no special favour and discrimination are  shown to some houses in doing this type of work.

In Gokulam many streets are encroached by residents in different ways by extending compound  walls, gates, footpath gardens, etc. I request the authorities to survey all roads in this area by  measuring the road width and reclaim the road area so that the vehicles can move more freely.
