ATM Fire Mishap: Only 6 currency notes of Rs. 100 were burnt

Mysuru: The State Bank of India lost only Rs. 600 in yesterday morning fire mishap. The earlier reports had said that Rs. 5 lakh cash loaded on Thursday evening, in the bank’s ATM Kiosk attached to the Mysore City Corporation branch, located at Varaha gate of the Palace, was gutted.

But during the Mahazar conducted by the Devaraja Police on Friday afternoon Rs. 4,56,000 lakh cash was found intact at the ATM, while the rest Rs. 44,000 was drawn by the customers from Thursday evening.

It was found that only 6 currency notes of Rs. 100 denomination was gutted in the fire, according to Devaraja Police Inspector S. Nagesh who also said that he was awaiting a report from the Fire and Emergency Services Department detailing the exact cause of fire.
