BJP ‘charge-sheet’ lists failures of State Government

May 12, 2017

Bengaluru: The State BJP on Thursday accused the Congress Government of failing on all fronts and not living up to the aspirations of the people during the past four years.

Speaking after releasing a 64 page booklet, termed by the party as a ‘charge-sheet’ on the failures of the Congress Government in  the past four years, State BJP President B.S. Yeddyurappa said that the Law and Order in the State has completely failed with crime and extortion rates witnessing a drastic rise across the State.

Alleging that the Siddharamaiah Government had made false claims on release of funds for irrigation projects, Yeddyurappa said that the Government had failed to disburse the input subsidy released by the Centre. Of the Rs. 1685.2 crore released by the BJP led Union Government,  the State Government is yet to disburse over Rs. 800 crore of this fund, he added.

Stating that Karnataka had gained the dubious distinction of being the most corrupt State in the country, according to a recent survey, Yeddyurappa trashed Siddharamaiah’s claims of corruption free governance.

Asserting that the Government had released only Rs. 41, 439  crore out of the Rs. 50,000 crore announced in Siddharamaiah’s first budget in 2013, of which Rs. 32,326 crore had been spent during the past four years, Jagadish Shettar alleged that the Government had back tracked on the promise  of annual spending of Rs. 10,000 crore in Krishna basin alone.

Shettar also said that Karnataka stands second in the Country in the number of farmers suicides, with as many as 2, 573 farmers ending their life during the  Congress regime.

Claiming that the Siddharamaiah Government was digging its own grave, both the leaders said that the Congress Government will be washed away in the 2018 Assembly Polls.
