Blocked drains — A problem at Gayatripuram

Blocked drains on the 6th Cross in Gayatripuram 1st Stage near the Masjid is causing a lot of problems to the residents as water has become stagnant resulting in foul smell emanating from the blocked drains besides increase in mosquitoes in the surroundings. This is causing a lot of problems especially to the senior citizens and kids who are being infected through mosquito bites. Residents said that the problem persists since about 18 months and though several complaints were lodged, no action has been taken till now. Authorities concerned are urged to take steps and get the drains cleared as monsoon has begun and the problem may escalate if not attended immediately.
