Srirangapatna: A woman from Bengaluru, who had come to Nimishamba Temple in Srirangapatna along with her family, caught the man who snatched her gold chain at the parking lot here yesterday.

While the woman, who caught her chain-snatcher, has been identified as 23-year-old Navya, the chain-snatcher has been identified as Naveen Kumar. A resident of Senaba village in Pandavapura.

Navya, who had come along with her husband Suresh Kumar and other family members, decided to stay back in the car parked in the parking lot as they had brought their pet dog along with them.

Meanwhile, Naveen, who approached Navya on the pretext of asking an address, snatched her 80 grams gold chain and tried to flee. However, Navya, held on to the hand of the chain-snatcher and the chain fell on the ground. Navya got down from the car held on to the chain-snatcher tightly and shouted for help.

Soon, the public who were nearby, rushed to her help and caught hold of the chain-snatcher, besides thrashing him before handing him over to the Police.

Srirangapatna Police have registered a case in this regard.
