Bylakuppe Golden Temple closed for renovation from today

Mysuru: The Golden Temple (Namdroling Monastery) at Bylakuppe near here will be temporarily closed for renovation from today (June 14).

The Namdroling Monastery, one of the most sought after tourist attractions in Karnataka, attracts thousands of tourists daily which swells to 10,000 on holidays. The imposing temple attracts people from not only different parts of the country but also from abroad.

The authorities of the Monastery will take up renovation works like replacing the temple flooring, repainting idols and the interior and exterior walls, among others.

The renovation work is likely to be completed by Aug.31, 2017.

Hence, the Golden Temple will remain closed for public and devotees from today, according to a press release from Tsering Choedhar, Managing Trustee, Penor Rinpoche Charity Foundation.
