DC inaugurates Indian Water Works Association

July 4, 2017

Mysuru: Observing that people should understand how valuable water is at least after seeing the struggles and agitations for water going on everyday, Deputy Commissioner (DC) D. Randeep regretted that some people were unnecessarily wasting precious water.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Mysuru Centre of Indian Water Works Association (IWWA) at the Institution of Engineers on JLB Road here on Sunday.

Pointing out that the Association was organising awareness programmes on conservation of underground water and rain water harvesting, Randeep said that only 50 percent of pipeline water supplied is being utilised for drinking purpose while the rest 50 per cent was going waste, which the Water Works Association was trying to prevent through concerted efforts.

Detailing the challenges ahead, he wished the Association all success in its endeavour.

MCC Commissioner G. Jagadesha, Indian Institute of Science Professor Dr. M.S. Mohan Kumar, IWWA Chairman G.M. Madegowda and others were present.
