Elderly woman murdered at Bilikere

Mysuru: An elderly woman was found murdered at her residence at Maradur in Bilikere Hobli of Hunsur taluk yesterday.

The victim has been identified as Philomena (62), wife of late Joseph. Philomena was alone at her house at about 3.30 pm, when miscreants who entered her house struck her head with lethal weapons, killing her on the spot.

The miscreants are said to have made good with 30 gm gold chain she was wearing before fleeing from the spot.

The incident came to light, when her son who works as a driver and her daughter-in-law, who works as a teacher at a school in Hunsur taluk, returned from work late in the evening.

Hunsur Circle Inspector Dharmendra and staff, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar. The Police who have begun investigation, suspect it to be a case of murder for gain, it is learnt.
