Five-year-old killed by stepfather

May 29, 2017

Mandya: A five-year-old boy was killed after his stepfather allegedly slapped  near his temple region to make him stop crying.

The deceased boy has been identified as Zameer Pasha, while the stepfather has been identified as Imran Khan, residing near a Samudaya Bhavan in K.R. Pet.

It is reported that Imran Khan, who fell in love with Shama Begum, a married woman from Chennarayapatna, brought her along with her two sons to his house about three months ago.

In the meantime, Shama’s husband Javeed had lodged a missing complaint with Chennarayapatna Police.

Investigating the missing complaint, the Police traced Shama with Imran in K.R. Pet. But Shama, who refused to go with her husband Javeed, had said that she would stay with Imran, following which, her eldest son Sadiq Pasha was handed over to Javeed, while Zameer Pasha stayed with his mother.

On May 23 night, Zameer began to cry continuously and Imran, in a bid to stop the child from crying, gave a tight slap to the cheek of Zameer, resulting in the kid’s death.

The following day, Imran called up Javeed over the phone and informed him that his child had died and asked him to take the dead body. Javeed, who came to K.R. Pet, took the body of Zameer, observed marks on the cheek and got the post-mortem done, which revealed that the boy was murdered.

Javeed, on May 24, lodged a murder complaint against Shama Begum and Imran at K.R. Pet Police Station.

K.R. Pet Police, based on the complaint, arrested Imran. A team headed by Circle Inspector Venkateshaiah has been formed to nab Shama Begum, who is absconding.
