B.G. Jasmitha was awarded College of Horticulture, Sirsi Faculty Gold Medal, for best overall performance in the degree programme among the Bachelor of Science (Horticulture) Graduates of College of Horticulture, Sirsi, during the academic year 2015-16 at the 6th Convocation held recently. She is seen with Horticulture Minister S.S. Mallikarjunappa and University of Horticultural Sciences (Bagalkot) VC Dr. D.L. Mahesh. Daughter of B.M. Girish, ex-Serviceman working at Infosys and Khanthi, residents of Hootagalli in Mysuru and native of Somwarpet in Kodagu, Jasmitha is presently pursuing her M.Sc at University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences [UAHS], Bengaluru.
