Government Hospitals to offer free dialysis to kidney ailment

Bengaluru – Providing some solace to kidney patients in Karnataka, the State Government has issued an order to extend free dialysis to kidney ailment patients in Government Hospitals.

Observing that different hospitals charged different price for dialysis, Government Hospitals coming under the Health and Family Welfare Department have been ordered to provide free dialysis to kidney ailment patients. The move has been initiated under the National Health Mission.

The order states that State’s 20 district & 3 major hospitals and 35 taluk hospitals will be equipped with dialysis units and the service will also be extended to 114 new hospitals coming up in various taluks, according to a press release from the Commissioner, Health and Family Welfare Dept. The order comes as a boon to poor and middle class kidney patients.
