KRS Right Bank Canal to be modernised

Bengaluru: The Karnataka Cabinet has approved the modernisation of the lower level canal of KRS Right Bank Canal. The works will be taken up at a cost of Rs. 46 crore.

At the same time, the Cabinet has given administrative approval to carry out development works in the D. Devaraja Urs Canal from 0 to 25 km, from 25 to 45 km and from 49 to 75 km with an estimated cost of Rs. 67 crore. Works include CC lining using mechanical paver technology.

Bellur that comes under Nagamangala Taluk in Mandya district will soon get a Town Panchayat status. The Cabinet also approved a multi-village drinking water scheme that will quench the thirst of 41 villages in H.D. Kote taluk. The works will be taken up at a cost of Rs. 1,361 crore.
