Lawyers have profound job of ensuring justice delivery: CJI

June 17, 2017

Over 109 students from the JSS Law College received their graduation degree at the 10th Graduation Day organised at the college premises in Kuvempunagar this morning. In all, there were 16 rank holders.

Graduates and rank holders received the honours from Karnataka High Court Chief Justice, Justice Subhro Kamal Mukherjee and Karnataka Lokayukta Justice P. Vishwanatha Shetty.

Addressing the graduates, Justice Subhro Kamal Mukherjee said that law colleges provide basics of legal education. “But the actual experience in legal profession comes practically which candidates get in courts. Practical and theory are entirely different,” he said.

Dwelling on Indian law, the Chief Justice said that there was no dearth for laws. “Implementation of law is very important and every one must be allowed to exercise their fundamental rights. The role of advocates in arguing on behalf of the aggrieved party is crucial here. They have to ensure that justice is delivered,” he opined. Law colleges must churn out more and more lawyers and legal professionals so that the society can benefit immensely, he added.

Suttur seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, Executive Secretary of JSS Mahavidyapeeta Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, Law College Chief Executive K.S. Suresh and Principal Prabhuswamy were present.
