Ma… Pa… take me home

April 25, 2017

Mysuru: As parents play a major role in raising children with love and affection, the District Child Protection Unit at the District Child Protection Officer’s Office in city has released photographs and details of four infants, who were rescued during the anti-child trafficking operation by the District Police in Nov. 2016.

These rescued kids, housed at Govt. Balamandira in city, were christened by the officials, who are now looking out for their biological parents to give them custody of their children. The details of infants are as follows:

Six-month-old Aadhya, born on Oct. 15, 2016, is 59 cms tall and weighs 4.5 kg.

Six-month-old Akhil, born on Oct. 5, 2016, is 65 cms tall and weighs 6.2 kg.

Ten-month-old Antony, born on June 10, 2016, is 67 cms tall and weighs 9.5 kg.

13-month-old Laya, born on March 13, 2016, is 69 cms tall and weighs 8 kg.

All the above mentioned children were born in Naseema Nursing Home at Mandi Mohalla here from where they were sold illegally before being rescued and handed over to the Child Protection Unit where they are in a healthy condition.

The parents or guardians of these children, if any, are requested to contact the Child Protection Officer’s office or the Office of the Child Welfare Committee over Ph: 0821-2543003.

It may be recalled that following complaints of illegal child trafficking racket in the district, the District Police led by the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Nov. 2016, conducted raids and had rescued 17 children besides arresting 8 persons including the kingpin behind the child trafficking racket.

Later, the parents of four children were traced and the kids were handed over to their custody. The remaining 13 children were handed over to the Government Balamandira in city for care-taking. Out of 13 children, the authorities have now christened four kids and have released their photographs for their parents to identify and take custody of them.
