Man held for smuggling live Tortoises in Hunsur

Hunsur: The Forest Department officials have arrested a man on charges of smuggling live Tortoises in a bag.

The accused has been identified as Siddappa, a resident of Chikka Hunsur.

The Forest Department personnel, on suspicion, stopped Siddappa near Chowdikatte village and when they checked his bag, they found four live Tortoises in it, following which RFO Shanthakumar, DRF Rizwan, Mahesh, Harish and others took Siddappa into custody and produced him before ACF Somappa.

Following instructions from the ACF, the accused has been remanded to Judicial custody.
