Men, women and children frolic at Slush Festival

Mysuru: Karavali Samskruthika Chavadi had organised a Slush Festival on a marshy land near Vijayanagar 4th Stage here yesterday.

Several games were organised in slush for participants comprising men, women and children.

The games included tug-of-war and walking backwards for women, dragging wife sitting on a large palm leaf and fortune game for couples, 100m and 200m run, making a clay models and drawing for children, volleyball and kabaddi for youth and walking race for elders.

The participants had lots of fun as they frolicked on slushy land slipping of ten and the whole scene was a replica of the coastal belt where slush race is a   very popular game.

The Slush Festival was inaugurated by MLA G.T. Devegowda who appreciated the organisers in coming out with the event to recreate ancient culture.

Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy Registrar B. Chandrahasa Rai, Chavadi President K. Ashok Kumar Shetty, Bunts Association President T. Prabhakar Shetty, Managing Trustee K. Ganesh Narayan Hegde, Kalikamba Temple President Cheluvachar, Chavadi Hon. President Dr. Dinesh Shetty, Secretary Sukumar, Convenor Rakesh Rai, Treasurer P. Lakshman Shettigar and others were present during the event.
