In the theory of the five elements in Feng Shui, each of the elements have a specific significance and importance. The element Metal signifies many important aspects in our life like strength, networking luck, mentor support etc.

Metal element in Feng Shui décor is symbolized by round shape and circular decor items bring into your home the energy of clarity, preciseness, freshness and equality that is characteristic to the Metal Feng Shui element.

Metal is the most Yang of the Feng Shui elements and is the element that is most recommended in order to attract wealth and prosperity to any environment.  Metal is very powerful and has a very strong effect on the other Feng Shui elements, in addition to the people living or working in an environment that has a good Metal element. If we pay attention to our observations, it may be noticed that when a person is in a space with big circular windows, for example, or a big round rug, the energy feels more refreshed, as well as more active and charged up. The round shape activates your energy and keeps it going; it is a very active energy, even though expressed in a subtle way.

This is one of the reasons why a round table is the best shape for a table in many homes and businesses — it is the shape that allows for a free, fresh and equal flow of energy between all family or business members.

By adapting the Feng Shui colours representing metal in home and office, one can  bring in qualities of efficiency, clarity, and efficiency especially in business success. Metal colours bring creative energy into communication and technology areas. The metal Gold usually represents wealth and financial success.

Metal can be represented by any metal object as well as by the colours which symbolize it.  Metal colours are white, grey and all metallic shades — gold, silver, chrome, brass, and bronze. The associated direction is west, and its organs are the lungs, skin, and hair. Past, future and aesthetics are the values associated with metal. Feng Shui-wise, there are several areas in your home where it is best to limit many Metal element decor items. Avoid decorating east and Southwest with big round shapes in the following sectors/areas:

It is very easy to implement the element of Metal to a room’s décor in ways that look both natural and decorative.  Attractive iron wall art is a simple and affordable way to do it.

Circular coffee tables, preferably with metal support or legs work well to for bringing the energy of a room together. Replace plant pottery with metal planters. Shiny metal radiates a greater amount of Chi than dull metals do. Even Chinese coins or metal wind chimes can enhance the metal element in an environment.

Painting Interior walls grey or white works too, although if it is overwhelming, try painting just a single wall to nullify some of the metal energies.
