New Rangayana Director to take charge on July 5

Mysuru: Renowned theatre person Bhagirathibai Kadam will take charge as the Director of Rangayana in Mysuru on July 5. Bhagirathi, a native of Hunsur in Mysuru, is a student of former Rangayana Director Chidambara Rao Jambe, who taught her theatrics at Neelakanteshwara Natyaseva Sangha (NINASAM) in Heggodu, Shivamogga. She will be the second woman Director after B. Jayashree for Rangayana-Mysuru.

Having immense experience in theatre and silver screen, Bhagirathibai has been a part of the Seagull Theatre in Guwahati for the past 30 years.

Bhagirathi’s appointment as Rangayana Director comes nearly eight months after H. Janardhan (Janni) completed his three-year term.
