One killed as private bus rams into goods auto

Mandya: One person was killed, while three others sustained serious injuries when a private bus rammed into a goods auto in which they were travelling near Tandekere, K.R. Pet taluk in Mandya district this morning.

While the deceased has been identified as Kalaiah, the injured have been identified as Vijayakumar, Prakash and Shivaramegowda. It is reported that Kalaiah, along with three others were travelling in the goods auto (KA-54 6007) from K.R. Pet to Tandekere when a Mumbai-bound private bus (KA-25 C-9835) coming from Mysuru, rammed into it killing Kalaiah on-the-spot and leaving others seriously injured.

K.R. Pet Circle Inspector Venkatesh and staff, who rushed to the spot on receiving information, shifted the injured to K.R. Hospital in Mysuru, conducted mahazar and shifted the body to K.R. Pet General Hospital for post-mortem. K.R. Pet Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
