Pedestrian killed as car rams him

Mysuru: A pedestrian, who was crossing the road, was killed on the spot, when a speeding car rammed into him near Bogadi in city yesterday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Mahadevanayaka (72), a resident of Kuvempu road in Bogadi and a retired MUDA employee.

It is reported that Mahadevanayaka was crossing the road to go to a Temple on Bogadi Ring Road, when a speeding Toyota Innova, rammed into him resulting in Mahadevanayaka suffering serious head injuries and breathing his last on the spot.

The driver of the Innova sped away after the mishap. Kuvempunagar Traffic Police, who visited the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case and are investigating.
