Pillion rider killed as lorry hits bike

Mysuru: In a tragic incident, a pillion rider was killed on the spot and the rider sustained serious injuries when a lorry hit the bike from behind near Royal Inn Hotel junction on KRS Road here on Monday evening.

While the deceased pillion rider has been identified as Mahadeva (40), a resident of Udayagiri, the rider, who sustained serious injuries, has been identified as 42-year-old Ningaraju, also of Udayagiri. Mahadeva and Ningaraju, both masons by profession, were returning home after finishing work on the bike (KA-55 H-1672), when a lorry (MH-06 AC-3108) hit the bike from behind near Royal Inn junction resulting in the death of pillion rider Mahadeva on the spot and Ningaraju suffering serious injuries.

V.V. Puram Traffic Police have registered a case in this regard.
