Mysuru – Dr. Karunaraju, Special Observer for Nanjangud by-poll, has warned officials of strict action if they fail to implement the election code of conduct.

The Special Officer held a meeting with the officials yesterday during which he said that the officials can reach any part of Mysuru on receiving complaints with regard to violation of election of code of conduct.

“If the officials do not respond on time it would lead to suspicion and one should not give room for that,” he said.

Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep said the election code applied to the entire district. “Election malpractices can be done in both city and rural areas. In an effort to keep a vigil on the same, the Zonal Officers in city and Revenue Inspectors have been appointed as officers to implement the code of conduct, supported by the Police.
