Samskruthotsava contests at BVB on July 15

Mysuru, June 21- As part of 12th Sanskrit Day celebrations — ‘Samskruthotsava’ — following competitions have been organised at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), Vijayanagar 1st Stage, on July 15 at 10 am:

Category 1 (LKG & UKG): Story Telling in Sanskrit — Two students can participate from each school. Time limit for story narration is 3 minutes. Supportive costumes for story-telling is allowed and will have additional points.

Category 2 (I to IV std.): Sanskrit Patriotic Song (Solo) — Two students can participate from each school. Selection of song should be different for each participant from same school.

Category 3 (V to VII std.): Bhajans — One team of maximum 6 students is allowed from each school. Participating team should be prepared with all the songs communicated earlier. Time limit for Bhajan is 5 minutes.

Category 4 (VIII to X std.): Quiz. Maximum of 3 teams comprising 2 students are allowed from each school. Preliminary stage comprises selected questions communicated earlier. A set of 50 questions will be randomly selected from the given set. Teams will be filtered out for first round based on preliminary stage results. First round will be selected questions based on Ramayana and Mahabharata. Second round will be on Astakas communicated earlier. Third round will be a visual round. Contestants will have to identify the particular event / situation of Ramayana and Mahabharata. Final Round will be illustrative round. Contestants will have to identify the given picture.

Prize distribution will be on the same day during the valedictory. Last date for receiving entries is June 30. Participants are expected to be present at the venue 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the competition. Registration starts by 9 am.
