Theatre Day : Ranganidhi website launched

The Gangubai Hangal University for Music and Performing Arts observed World Theatre Day at a function organised at its premises this morning.

The event was inaugurated by noted theatrist Dr. Na. Ratna. He also launched the ‘Ranganidhi’ website and a book ‘Jothe Koothu Maathu’ , a book on theatre authored by Theatre Person Srikanta Gundappa.

Theatre Director Prof. H.S. Umesh also delivered a special lecture on the occasion. The University had also organised an exhibition of paper cutting and posters of various theatre plays held over the past 55 years. Prior to this, a play named ‘Exploitation and Towards Empowerment’ was staged by the students of Music University. Music Varsity Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sarvamangala Shankar and Registrar Prof. Niranjana were present.
