More ticket counters to ease entry to Palace: Online tickets valid for three months

Mysuru: The entry to the historic Mysore Palace, one of the most visited tourist destinations in the country, with lakhs of wonderstruck visitors queuing up to enter its precincts, is going to get easy.

The Palace Board took a decision to increase the ticket counters from the current four to eight. This is the first time in the history of the Palace that the visitors can have an unfettered entry to the Palace.

Deputy Commissioner and Palace Board Chairman D. Randeep (despite being on leave), chaired a meeting here this morning, at Jaladarshini Guest House and took a decision to open more counters to facilitate easy entry into the Palace.

According to the decision taken, apart from the four ticket counters at the South Gate of the Palace, three more counters, one each at Balarama, Jayarama and Amba Vilas Gates June 15. Another counter will be opened at the Palace Board office itself. He directed the Board officials to set up the counters without spoiling the beauty of the gate entrances.  

Online ticketing

The people from any part of the world can book tickets online to visit the Mysore Palace sitting at home. These tickets will have a validity of three months. The online tickets will be available from July 1. Software major ExcelSoft from Mysuru will be the implementing agency. Once the module is tested for a week and the security audit approved by the DC, the online ticket will be implemented, said the Deputy Commissioner. Palace Board Deputy Director T.S. Subramanya, ExcelSoft Managing Director D. Sudhanva, Day Futures’ Balasubramanya and Naveen and other staff members were present.
