Tipper brings down electric pole

June 21, 2017

Mysuru: A tipper, which was proceeding on JLB Road, brought down an electric pole and snapped live wires along with it here yesterday. Luckily, no injuries or fatalities have been reported.

The tipper, belonging to the Railway Department, was proceeding from Ramaswamy Circle towards Metropole Circle when the dumping bed of the tipper accidentally lifted near MUDA office and the electric wire got tangled to it. As the tipper tugged the wire, it resulted in an electric pole coming down snapping live wires in the process. As an electric component automatically shut the flow of electric current, the tipper driver escaped without a scratch. Though the movement of traffic on the road would usually be high, there was very less movement of vehicles and pedestrians during the time of the mishap. K.R. Traffic Police, who rushed to the spot, placed barricades and diverted the vehicles. CESC staff took up the repair works.
