Woman dies of snake bite

Mysuru: A woman from H.D. Kote taluk, who was being treated at K.R. Hospital after she was bitten by a snake about 15 days ago, died in the wee hours of this morning.

The deceased has been identified as Mangalamma (45), wife of Mahantadevaru of Kottegala in Saragur hobli of H.D Kote taluk.

Mangalamma was working in her field when she was bitten by the snake. She was rushed to a local hospital, from where she was shifted to JSS Hospital and then to Bhavani Hospital and finally to K.R. Hospital a couple of days ago, where she breathed her last at about 1 am this morning, after failing to respond to treatment. Saragur Police have registered a case in this regard.
