Mysuru/Mysore: Alleging a scam in the selection of Gazetted Probationary Officers by the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) in 2015, various Associations including Karnataka Rajya Hindulida Vargagala Jagrutha Vedike, Federation of Dalit Associations, Karnataka State Nayaka Welfare Forum and Dalit Students Federation, have demanded a judicial probe into the scam.
Addressing a press meet here yesterday, Karnataka Rajya Hindulida Vargagala Jagrutha Vedike President K.S. Shivaramu said that the provisional list of gazetted probationers selected by the KPSC in 2015, has been published in Dec., 2019, which has given rise to suspicions.
Arguing that unsuccessful candidates were given only seven days to file objections to the list, instead of the mandatory 15 days, Shivaramu claimed that most of the posts have been bagged by candidates belonging to a couple of dominant communities, while the oppressed classes have got just the number of posts reserved for them.
Smelling a scam in the appointments, he urged the Government for re-evaluation of marks and to order a judicial probe into the illegalities in the appointments. He warned of staging an indefinite stir if the Government failed to render justice to candidates from the Backward Classes and other oppressed sections.
Leaders of various Dalit Associations P. Raju, Sandesh, Mahesh Sosale, Mahesh Tagadur and others were present.
