June 6, 2018

Mysuru: Pejawar Seer Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji has said that there were many people who sacrificed a lot to build and maintain the Madhwa Students Hostel. He was speaking after inaugurating the 60th anniversary of Akhila Bharata Madhwa Maha Mandal at Madhwa Students Hostel in K.R. Vanam yesterday.

Among the people who have strived for the hostel are H.C. Subbarao, Lakshmanrao who donated the land and Vittal Rao Upadhyaya. “Even I have sat on fasts and visited houses raising funds for the hostel,” he said.

Stressing on the importance of spiritual and religious studies along with modern education, the Seer said this was the intention behind establishing Anandathirtha Vidyalaya (by Pejawar Mutt) where the syllabus is a combination of modern teaching and religious value education. He said that there was a suggestion to implement such education system at  schools run by the Mutt.

At the event, one Vasanth Kumar appealed to KR MLA S.A. Ramdas to rename Manandawadi Road as Madhwacharya Road. He also donated Rs. 1 lakh to Madhwa Student Hostel and School Managing Committee. Prakhanda Pandit Vidwan Dr. Vyasanakere Prabhanjanacharya donated Rs. 1 lakh to the management. Later, senior leaders of the community were felicitated.
