Mysuru: The Institution of Engineers (India), Mysuru Local Centre, under its weekly lecture series had organised a lecture on ‘Modern health disorders, ayurveda and yoga management’ by Dr.M.N. Sudha, Senior Consultant, Ayurveda and Yogic Science at its premises on JLB road here recently.
Dr. Sudha contended that ayurveda can gauge the age of a person and decide on the type of food to be taken during a particular season. With the advent of modern technology, pain has become a part of the body in daily life paving way for newer versions of diseases and disorders, observed Dr. Sudha.
Bengaluru has become a city for new type of diseases. The youth are going weak and ailments like diabetes, hypothyroidism and those pertaining to skin and brain are on the rise.
The kids too are not spared as they get involved more in video games leaving behind writing and reading, explained Dr. Sudha.
Referring to Ayurveda and Yoga, Dr. Sudha claimed that the two were from India but regretted that people here have been allured by the western culture.
She asserted that a regular practice of yoga and meditation coupled with healthy food and habits along with ayurveda can keep many ailments at bay. IEI Chairman Dr.R. Suresh, Hon. Secretary D.K. Dinesh Kumar and others were present.
