Ramakrishna Mutt Seer opens MyBuild expo
Mysuru: “Everyone dreams of constructing a house in one’s lifetime. It may be in a village, town or a city. MyBuild expo fulfils that need which the public should utilise fully,” said Swami Muktidanandaji, Trustee, Sri Ramakrishna Mutt and Mission, Belur.
He was speaking after inaugurating the six-day MyBuild 17 expo, organised by Builders Association of India (BAI), Mysore Centre, at Maharaja’s College Grounds here yesterday.
He said that engineers should build the country just like they build beautiful huge buildings. “The builders should also focus on constructing low budget houses for slum-dwellers with plenty of light, air and ventilation,” he said and added, “People come to our country to learn yoga, meditation and Ayurveda. However, it is sad to see that we ourselves have neglected this ancient tradition and instead go in search of other things abroad.”
Karnataka Pradesh Janata Dal (U) President Mahima Patel said that not all those who study engineering become engineers. Anyone who thinks of building something is an engineer. This kind of thoughts are very essential to build the city, district, State and the country, he added.
“A few political parties may approach the builders during election time asking them to fund the elections. However, if BAI, which has more than 50,000 members in the country, unite then a very constructive Government at the Centre can be formed,” he said.
The country has developed sufficiently. However, a lot more needs to be done. Elections are the source of all corruption. Clean, simple and transparent elections must be held. If this has to happen then all the builders must approach Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urge him to conduct, free, fair and transparent elections. “If the Prime Minister can demonetise the currency overnight then it is also possible to bring in changes in election process within a week. The builders should think along these lines,” said Patel.
If the cases in Police Stations, hospitals and Courts increase, it does not mean that there is development. Only if the cases come down then the society can develop, he said.
BAI State Chairman S.R. Swamy, MyBuild-17 Chairman K.R. Prabhakar Rao and Hon. Secretary S. Vasudevan BAI Mysore Chairman Mahadeswamy and Hon. Secretary Ratna Raj were present. Valedictory of MYBUILD will be held on Dec.11 at 5 pm. The expo is open for public from 10 am to 8.30 pm with an entry fee of Rs. 20 per person.
