Mysuru: Mysore Division Catholic Christian Association (MDCCA) has decided to lodge a complaint with Lokayukta, against Cathedral Parish Society for getting allotted 55 sites worth several crores of rupees under the 50:50 scheme by MUDA on the basis of fake documents.
Addressing media persons at Pathrakartara Bhavan in the city on Wednesday, President of MDCCA J. Stephen Sujith said, Cathedral Parish Society hasn’t lost any land, but Staney D’Almeida associated with that Society has been allotted 55 sites under 50:50 scheme at Kesare Third Stage and R.T. Nagar. The sites should be withdrawn and allotted to the genuine beneficiaries, he demanded.
Those in the Society, having an unholy nexus with the MUDA officials have taken the undue benefit in the form of sites. Hence, we under MDCCA have decided to lodge a complaint with the Lokayukta Police soon, said Sujith.
During the year 1992, about 1,462 sites had been developed on 108 acres of land, under the leadership of then Fr. Noronha of St. Philomena’s Church. The sale deed had been issued to 1,462 beneficiaries through James Martin, the General Power of Attorney (GPA) holder. However, MUDA acquired the land. Subsequently, Cathedral Parish Society was formed with the ulterior motive of grabbing those sites and got the benefit of 55 sites. So, MUDA should reacquire those sites and distribute them among 1,462 real beneficiaries. Or else, we will launch a protest, warned Sujith.
John Fernandes, Elvin and M. Simon were present at the press meet.
