Child brutally attacked by Rottweiler Pet Dog

September 7, 2017

Star of Mysore has received three pictures of the child taken after it was attacked by the animal. The pictures are so bloody, ghastly and revulsive to look at with a portion of the child’s head being torn off and the blood splattered all over the place that we decided not to publish the pictures.

Mysuru: Even in their wildest dreams they would not have imagined that their two-year-old child would be mauled by their own dog. The shocked parents are yet to come to terms with the incident where their little child was bitten by their three-year-old pet dog. The child is now undergoing plastic surgery at a private hospital in city for the deep wounds caused by the sharp canines of the Rottweiler.

The incident occurred yesterday afternoon and the child who was bitten by the pet is Amoghavarsha, the son of Ajay, a resident of Dattagalli Second Stage near Kuvempunagar. According to family members, the child was playing outside the house at around 2 pm when the attack took place.

Hearing the loud screams of the child, parents and neighbours rushed outside only to find the Rottweiler biting the child’s head with his body dangling from the dog’s mouth. The shocked parents found that the dog had bitten deep into the child’s head and blood was oozing out. The dog did not release the child even as parents and the neighbours caught hold of its mouth and tried to release the child.

Having no other choice, the parents beat up the dog with sticks and rescued their child after almost 45 minutes of struggle. The child’s skull cap bore deep cuts.

The profusely bleeding child was rushed to Bhanavi Hospital where first aid was provided. The child was taken to Apollo Hospital this morning where doctors were in the process of conducting plastic surgery. Doctors said that the condition of the child was critical but stable. Family members said that the Rottweiler was like a member of the family.

Rottweilers are blocky dogs with massive heads and they are generally selected for guarding and protection work. They get along well with people and other dogs if they are trained properly. However, males in particular  can be aggressive.

I’ve owned Rottweilers as well as friends n family for years…these dogs amongst others in this class are unfairly getting a bad rap…like humans you get a few that for some reason get aggresive…but over 80 percent is due to poor breeding….poor training…etc…..

These dogs if trained properly are very good guard dogs and also are very friendly. However if they sense a threat to the owner they will attack. They are mostly no nonsense dogs. Primary thing to be noted here is that, the owners did not know how to handle this dog. They get such breeds as social symbol which puts both in danger
