CM offers puja to Nandi Dhwaja

Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddharamaiah launched the traditional 407th Dasara celebration by offering puja to Nandi Dhwaja near the Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple in front of the Balarama Gate, here yesterday.

The Chief Minister, who arrived at the venue along with his colleagues around 2.15 pm, offered the puja during the  Shuba Makara Lagna by showering flower petals.

PWD and District in-Charge Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa, Ministers Tanveer Sait, Umashree, Geetha Mahadevaprasad and Anjaneya, MP Pratap Simha, Mayor M.J. Ravikumar, Zilla Panchayat President Nayeema Sulthana, Boards’ Chairman and others were present.

The two Nandi Dhwaja troupes, Agrahara and Gourishankara, participated in the procession. The troupe led by Mahadevappa from Udigala has been participating in the procession since the last 53 years.

Mallesh, Swamy, Rajashekar, Jayashekar and others were part of the troupe.
