International Marathon Runner Jaisha to flag off the event
Mysuru: The Columbia Asia Hospital, Mysuru, in association with Sports and Beyond, is organising a 10km Challenge Run with the theme ‘Give way to save life’ tomorrow (Feb.25).
The event will be flagged off at Centenary Clock Tower in Manasagangothri premises at 6 am.
International Marathon Runner O.P. Jaisha, who took part in the Rio Olympics representing India, will join hands with Columbia Asia Hospital’s campaign which aims to increase awareness among the citizens to give way to the ambulance in emergency and will flag off the race.
Jaisha is the current National Record holder in the marathon event in the women’s section. She achieved a timing of 2hr:34.43s in the 2015 World Championships in Beijing in the marathon event.
Patients of Columbia Asia who have gone through joint replacement, Open heart surgery and other major surgeries will be part of this run and will be honoured separately. The run will have three categories — 10k timed run, 5k open run and a focused 3k run for the kids of today and future citizens of the country.
