Mysuru: The Mysuru Consumer District Redressal Forum has ordered the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) to issue Title Deeds immediately and it also levied a penalty of over Rs.40,000 plus up-to-date interest each, to a few of the residents of the Mysore Bank Colony.
Some of the members had demanded immediate issue of Title Deeds for Blocks 19 & 33 in SBM Colony, which the MUDA had kept pending, despite orders from Government of Karnataka, Urban Land Development Department.
Based on the order of the Consumer Forum, MUDA issued Title Deeds to some of the land owners who had filed cases. Following this, some more residents of Bank Colony are filing cases, said the Secretary of the Association K.V. Ramanath, speaking to Star of Mysore.
This issue was brought to the notice of the residents, during the Annual General Body Meeting of The Mysore Bank Colony Residents’ Cultural & Welfare Association, Sreerampura, held at the Janani Janma Bhoomi Trust Function Hall, Aravindanagar, here recently.
He also informed that the Association had also approached MLA S.A. Ramdas to intervene in the matter for the delay, who in turn has also written to the MUDA Commissioner to immediately take up the matter and comply as per the Government instructions.
The Association had also addressed a letter to the Under secretary, Urban Land Development Department, for immediate action. But nothing has come through, which forced the affected to approach the Mysuru District Consumer Redressal Forum for redressal against MUDA, he said in a release.
“We also brought it to the notice of the then Urban Land Minister U.T. Khader during MUDA Adalat about non-issuing of Title Deeds to some of the residents but the Minister did not evince much interest,” he said.
In the meeting, many of the members present sought early action for developmental activities which are pending in the Layout to be executed by MUDA and MCC, like Rajakaluve, road repairs, SBM Park etc.
President Arunkumar Shettar spoke. Treasurer Gurumurthy read out the annual report and informed that the Association has completed 25 years from the date of inception and hence, a separate cultural programme will be held along with the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations in November.
H.R. Prakash welcomed. Mukundaraj proposed a vote of thanks. H.R. Vijayalakshmi rendered invocation. Vice President Venkatakrishna Bhat compered the programme.
