Then disclose it voluntarily before Mar. 15
Mysore/Mysuru: In a bid to provide benefits such as enhanced veterinary care and well-being of exotic animals among others, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, has offered ‘Voluntary disclosure scheme for exotic live animals’ for those owning them.
This is a scheme for Voluntary Disclosure and Registration of Stock, Import of Exotic Live Species in India and related matters (for exotic live animals listed in CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) excluding wild animals listed in the schedules of Wildlife (Protection) Act 1972).
Those owning exotic live animals can register or apply for voluntary disclosure of possession of live animals; Registration of change in stock of exotic live animals (Transfer/Death/Acquisition); NoC for import of exotic live animals and birth of progenies.
Following voluntary dis-closure, exotic live animal owners will be provided benefits such as: Immunity as per directions of Allahabad Court and corroborated by the Supreme Court; Enhanced Veterinary care and Control of Zoonotic diseases.
The entire registration process has been made online and exotic live animal owners can log on to http://parivesh.nic.in/ for voluntary disclosure and related matters.
The last date for voluntary disclosure is Mar. 15.
