Driver killed as car hits road divider

Mysuru:  A car driver died in a hospital, while another is undergoing treatment when the car in which they were travelling rammed into an electric pole and then to a road divider after the driver in his attempt to avoid running over a dog lost control of the car on the Ring Road near Hinkal on Wednesday.

While the deceased has been identified as Prakash (33), a resident of Hebbal, the injured is Rajendra.

Prakash and Rajendra were proceeding on the Ring Road from Bogadi side in the car (KA-05-MH-3244) and when they were nearing Hinkal, a dog came in front of the car all of a sudden and Prakash, who was behind the wheels tried to avoid running over the dog but lost control of the vehicle leading to the accident.

Though Prakash was rushed to the hospital, he breathed his last after failing to respond to the treatment.

V.V. Puram Traffic Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
