MysoreMysuru: In a move towards implementation of information technology-enabled services, Indian Railways has launched a module on e-Pass under Human Relations Management System (HRMS).
The website and app is designed by Centre for Railway Information System (CRIS). The Pass module was inaugurated by Vinod Kumar Yadav, Chairman, Railway Board, through video-conference on Aug.10.
The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) and other Senior Officers of South Western Railway (SWR), Mysuru Division, participated in the inauguration. Railway employees can apply and get e-Pass via online mode and book tickets through IRCTC like any other passenger. This facility will benefit 13 lakh employees of Indian Railways.
Presently, passes are being obtained by employees through manual mode and they are unable to book tickets through online mode. From October 2020 onwards all employees can avail passes through online mode only, according to a press release from Priya Shetty, Divisional Commercial Manager and PRO, SWR Mysuru.
