Mysore/Mysuru: Kalasuruchi and Samyukt Collective will present ‘Thoughts’, an experimental band of Karnatak music, on Saturday (Oct. 28) at 6.30 pm at Suruchi Rangamane in Kuvempunagar.
Mysuru’s proud young artistes Sai Shiv, Keshav Mohan Kumar and Shamit S. Gowda will be in the instrumental ensemble.
Sai Shiv is a disciple of renowned mridanga player Karaikudi Mani. An Akashvani ‘A’ grade artiste, he received Best Mridanga Artiste award from Shruti Laya Kendra in 2015. He has participated in many percussion concerts with Karaikudi Mani. A music designer and composer, his music can be heard on all digital platforms.
Keshav Mohan, a disciple of Vid. H.K. Narasimha Murthy, practiced violin with him. A grade artiste of Akashvani and TV, he is a recipient of Shanmukhananda Sabha’s (Mumbai) M.S. Subbalakshmi Fellowship and Sangeet Mudra Award (Chennai).
Shamit Gowda started learning ghata from Vid. H.L. Sivasankaraswamy and now under Giridhara Udupa. He got 1st rank in Karnataka State Tala-Vadya Exam and scholarship of Karnataka Sangeet Nritya Academy.
