Mysuru: The officials of the Karnataka Lake Conservation and Development Authority visited the Kukkarahalli Lake here yesterday to inspect the lake.
The Lake Conservation and Development Authority Assistant Executive Engineers Lakshminarayan and Mohan, along with Karnataka Environment Officer Geetha visited the lake and conducted an inspection regarding the flow of sewage water into the lake.
The experts said that the desilting should be stopped and fresh water allowed into the lake.
Kukkarahalli Lake Conservation Committee’s K.M. Jayaramaiah suggested that a Sewage Treatment Plant should be installed and the treated water to be released into the lake.
He also pointed out that efforts to release the water through pipes from Hebbal Lake must be dropped.
The Deputy Commissioner had also agreed to his (Jayaramaiah’s) suggestion of installing the Sewage Treatment Plant and the water stored there being treated and released into the Lake, said Jayaramaiah.
