Extortion case: Prime accused gets bail

The First Additional Civil and JMFC Court Judge has granted conditional bail to the prime accused in an extortion case in city.

The prime accused, who has been granted bail, has been identified as Geetha, who was arrested along with three others for threatening and extorting cash and valuables from one Sannaswamy of Kuvempunagar after calling him to her house on Dec. 20. Judge P. Murali Mohan Reddy, who heard the arguments, granted conditional bail after securing Rs. 50,000 bond from the accused.

Geetha, along with Manjunath and two other boys had snatched away Rs. 90,000 cash and gold jewellery of Sannaswamy after threatening him and the City Crime Branch (CCB) Police had arrested all the four persons on Jan. 27.

Advocate B.R. Dinesh argued in favour of the accused.
