Four arrested for illegal mining

Gundlupet: Terakanambi Police have arrested four persons on charges of illegal mining in Patta lands in Kundakere village in the taluk and have also seized explosives used for illegal mining.

Acting on a tip off, where the  mining was going at the fields of Mallappa and Ankappa without a valid permit, the Police raided the place and arrested Swamy, Ravi, Raju and Venkatesh, while Mallappa, Ankappa and their assistant Murugesh fled from the spot. The Police have also seized gelatin sticks, detonators, compressor vehicle and other materials used for the illegal mining from the spot besides launching a hunt to nab the absconding persons.

Sub-Inspector Ravikiran, ASI Nagarajappa and staff Abdul Kalam, G. Mallesh, Nagaraj, Jayaraju, Shankararaju and Suresh took part in the raid, nabbing and seizing operation.
