Sir,
We all pay one tax or the other but paying house tax is a harrowing experience. There was a time when people from Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) used to come to our house to collect the tax but now we have to go to designated places to pay tax.
Take the case of residents in Saraswathipuram. We have to go to Sharadadevinagar and ascend a two-storey building through narrow steps. The days being hot adds to the trauma of standing in the queue patiently and one spends the better part of the day in sweltering heat.
First you have to get the form and let alone for lay persons even for educated it is quite a chore to fill it. But you have to approach the person who has the register where your house address is given and get the form filled for a nominal charge which you do not grudge. Particularly for old people it would be a very taxing experience to endure the near choking sensation.
My question is, when people in Bengaluru can pay tax online, why this facility has not been created here? This question has been asked year after year and yet there is no action.
Will the MCC authorities wake up and put an end to subjecting residents for this harrowing experience? By introducing the system of paying online, property tax payment can be made hassle-free.
