Mysuru: Ganabharathi has organised a vocal concert by Vid. Madhu Kashyap on Sept. 1 (Friday) at 6 pm at Veene Seshanna Bhavan in Kuvempunagar. He will be accompanied by Vidu. Adithi Krishnaprakash on violin, Vid. B. S. Prashanth on mridanga and Vid. Raghunandan Vyasarao on ghata.
Profile:Hailing from a musical background, Vid.Madhu Kashyap’s quest for music began with mridanga at an early age under the tutelage of his father Karnataka Kalashree Vid.N.G.Ravi, a renowned mridanga artiste. His interest in music diversified towards Karnatak classical vocal and was trained by his mother Dr. Meenakshi Ravi, a veteran teacher and performer, and Sangeetha Kalacharya Vidu. Neela Ramgopal, a renowned name in the field. He has also received guidance from Vid. T.V.Ramprasad and also had the privilege of being trained under Vid. H.S. Sudhindra.
A ‘B-High grade’ artiste of AIR, he has been performing for the past 15 years in various prestigious sabhas all over South India. He also has experience in Jugalbandhi concerts and thematic concerts on the life of Haridasas, Shyama Shastri and Sadashiva Brahmendra. He has been conferred with awards like Raagalaya Prathibha, Ananya Yuva Puraskara, Nada Kishora, Ananya Naadajyothi Puraskara.
