Make Roads More Safer

Sir,

This is in support of the letter titled “Ever-increasing menace of stray cattle on M.G. Road” by Dr. Suhail Azam Khan in Star of Mysore dated June 11.

Mysuru city traffic is increasing day by day and we find cattle menace not only on M.G. Road but on all important roads like Sayyaji Rao Road, D.D. Urs Road, Dhanvanthri  Road and Temple Road in V.V.  Mohalla.

Traffic Police are checking vehicles for document and traffic violations in order to minimise the accidents as it is their duty to do so. Well, we road users also have a right to demand safe roads. Roads should be free from cattle menace, unscientific road humps, road humps to be  painted, prior warning sign boards, and most importantly, pothole-free roads.

It is of no use giving statements in newspapers saying “Warning to Cattle Owners.” Why are the authorities concerned not able to end the cattle menace on the streets?  Mysuru being an important tourist place it will create a bad impression on the tourists who are visiting our city.

It is better that the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) authorities jointly coordinate with the Police Department and  put an end to the stray cattle menace on busy streets and make roads safer for road users.
