Multi-level parking

July 26, 2018

Sir,

The much-hyped multi-level vehicle parking at the Town Hall premises may not see light in the near future. Looks like the contractor to whom this work was entrusted has left the site executing about 6% of the work.

Probably the authorities concerned would have diluted all penal clauses in favour of the contractor, so that he can go scot-free without completing the work awarded under tender. Now who is responsible to ensure that the work is completed ?

It is the tax-payers money siphoned off by the contractor, engineers and politicians in the name of multi-level parking.

While drafting the tender documents, the authorities should include strict penal clauses, so that contractors are forced to complete the work as per the scope of the work mentioned in the tender.
