State Finals in Bengaluru on Mar. 21
Mysuru: The Mysuru Regional Finals of TCS TechBytes 2018 was conducted on Mar.8 at Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE), Mysuru. The IT quiz was organised by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and the Board for IT Education Standards (BITES), an autonomous body promoted by Government of Karnataka in association with IT industries and educational institutions, for engineering students.
At the Mysuru Regional Finals, students underwent a written round and the top six teams were selected to participate in an interactive quiz. The animation-based quiz format had the following three segments — ByteChain, Retro-Futurist Bytes, Sound Bytes, Byte Network and Accelerator Bytes. Each of the rounds tested the students’ spectrum of knowledge in IT sphere.
After an intense battle, Arnab Ghosh & Adithya Raj from NIE Institute of Technology emerged winners, followed by Adith A. Danhi & Nikil Ramesh from Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering as runners-up.
The winners took home an educational scholarship of Rs.12,000, a trophy and prizes from TCS. The runners-up received a scholarship of Rs. 10,000 and prizes from TCS. The teams that stood 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th received earphones, pendrives, haversacks, T-shirts and other goodies.
Dr. T. N. Nagabhushan, Principal, SJCE, distributed the prizes. The winners will now participate in the State Finals to be held at Bengaluru on Mar. 21.
